Sweater Vests

Sweater vest trend? Yes, I'm into it!

We did go through a phase last summer where everyone began wearing vests as shirts, known as the shest. We will probably revisit the "shest" once it starts to get warm and stay warm. Right now, we're looking at sweater vests as an accessory. They are a quick and easy way to give shirts and dresses a boost.

If you don't own a vest, do not worry about buying one. You can DIY one by cutting off the sleeves, and there you have it- your own trendy vest.

Believe it or not, sweater vests can integrate into a minimalist outfit easily.  Try a monochrome sweater vest and trouser combo for the perfect sophisticated style.

You can pair your sweater vest with an oversized button up shirt underneath. If you feel too exposed, you can add a pair of biker shorts underneath for extra coverage. Since baggy jeans are a huge trend for this season, the sweater vest pairs so nicely with them.

Whereas long-sleeved sweaters in prints can sometimes overwhelm an outfit, patterned sweater vests are a perfect way to add spark to your look while keeping it balanced. Consider layering yours over a white Oxford blouse, and finish with a pair of blue jeans and booties.

Placing a smart spin on the knitwear trend, the fitted sweater vest is inspired by school uniforms of the ‘90s. To make them 2020-approved, fashion girls are choosing soft, neutral shades, which look pristine when worn with black and white clothing items. There polished crew necks and casual deep-V styles to choose from, both of which are totally on-trend.
